Founded in 1989, the Lambda Literary Awards are given each year to a variety of books of literary merit that include gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender themes. The categories for award-winners are split by audience, genre, and the subdivision of the LGBT acronym predominantly depicted in the work.
